ST. LOUIS - What do you get when you add 10,000 students, 33
university locations and $75,000 in scholarship awards? You get
the 2005 Kumon Math Challenge.
On Sunday, July 10, 2005, thousands of students throughout the
United States and Canada are expected to participate in the annual
summer competition at 33 university locations. Locally the Kumon
Math Challenge will be held at Washington University in St. Louis.
A total of $75,000 in scholarships (up from $50K last year) will
be awarded to students in grades 1-10. The top 10 winners in each
grade level will receive $250-$1,500 each.
The multiple-choice exam includes calculation and application
questions. Students in grades 1-5 will be tested for approximately
40 minutes and students in grades 6-10 will be given an hour to
complete the test.
Online registration has begun and continues through June 27,
2005. There is a $17 registration fee, which covers the cost of
