The 23rd Annual Conference of the Midwest Chinese American Science & Technology Association (MCASTA 2006, www.scanews.com/mcasta) will be held at the Doubletree Hotel in St. Louis, Missouri, on Saturday, September 16, 2006. The mission of MCASTA is to facilitate scholarly interactions and collaborations among Midwest Chinese Americans and scholars from Taiwan. The three primary sessions planned for this year's conference are: (1) Life Science and Biotechnology, (2) Engineering and Applied Science, and (3) Art, Humanity, and Social Science. The interested topics include, but not limit to
1. Life Science: Biology, Biochemistry, biomedical and Pharmaceutical research2. General Medicine3. Food Science and Nutrition4. Biotechnology5. Modern Engineering and Science Research6. New Advances: Nanoscience, Nanotechnology, Energy, Sustainability7. Information Science and Technology8. Architecture9. Art, Literature, and Social science10. Cross-Strait Economic and Policy Developments
In addition, a youth leadership training program and a cross-strait relations forum have also been planned for the general public.
The MCASTA 2006 conference offers free admission and cordially invites you to attend all the sessions and events. If you plan to present your work in one of the three primary sessions, please use the attached form to submit your abstract before July 15, 2006. Electronic submission is preferred. Authors will be notified of the acceptance of their abstracts by August 15, 2006. Graduate students and post-doctoral researchers are strongly encouraged to participate and those who have the best presentation(s) in each session will be selected to receive a Young Investigator Award.
