Kristofer Kang Butler, age 14, will be a freshman this August at "TheMissouri Academy of Science, Mathematics, and Computing" located on thecampus of Northwest Missouri State University. Kristofer will be one ofapproximately sixty, 10th grade, high school students from aroundmearby States that was accepted to attend the Academy. "TheAcademy", is one of only three, residential, early entry, collegeprograms in the U.S. http://www.nwmissouri.edu/MASMC
Kristofer will spend his last two years of high school at the Academy,where he will attend traditional, Freshman and Sophomore level,University classes with other University students. Upon completion, hechose to receive a high school diploma from Marquette High School ofthe Rockwood School District, AND an Associate of Science degree from theUniversity. Kristofer is interested in a career as a Video GameDesigner and he has already visited the top four Video Game DesignUniversities in the States.
Kristofer has been in Rockwood's gifted program since the 1st Grade andhe's also in the "highly gifted" group. He enrolled in Kindergarten asan "early entry" student at Woerther Elementary School, and he attendedSelvidge Middle School, where he skipped the eighth grade and went fromseventh to ninth. He's been attending the St. Louis Chinese LanguageSchool since he was four years old and he is currently working on his"Eagle Scout" rank in Boy Scouts. |
