The Organization of Chinese Americans (OCA) STL chapter and St. Louis Chinese American News today announced it will host a "Make a difference, Get Out to Vote" this October 4th from 10am to 2pm at Baily Market in University City.
According to the U.S. Census Bureau, Asian Americans are one of the fastest growing voting blocs in the United States and will be a key influence in choosing the next U.S. president. Organizers of this event say voter registration drives are critical to bolstering the number of Asian Americans participating in the 2008 presidential election.
In addition to registering voters, Baily supermarket will offer food samples and door price. OCA St. Louis Vice-president will speak about the power of the Asian American community in the democratic process and the importance of exercising the right to vote.
