Storytelling Is No Trivial Pursuit

A family trivia night in support of the St. Louis Storytelling Festival will be held at 7:00 p.m. on March 14 at the United African Presbyterian Church, 9407 Manchester Road, Rock Hill, Mo. Bring the little ones, the grandparents, and everyone in between, because the questions will run the gamut. The tables will seat eight, and the fee is $10 per person. Family Trivia Night is sponsored by three local storytelling organizations: MO-TELL (Missouri Storytelling), St. Louis Gateway Storytellers, and Riverwind Storytellers. To register, call (314) 962-6412 or (636) 271-7914.

Each year, some 20,000 St. Louisans are regaled by tales at the free St. Louis Storytelling Festival, an annual tradition since 1980. The 30th annual festival takes place April 29-May 2 in numerous locations in St. Louis and St. Charles. For event times and locations, visit the Web site at http://stlstorytellingfestival.org.

All St. Louis Storytelling Festival events are free and open to the public. The festival is made possible by the support of its numerous sponsors, including the University of Missouri-St. Louis, Regional Arts Commission, Missouri Arts Council, and National Park Service at the Jefferson National Expansion Memorial.
