St. Louis Laborers Announce Endorsement for Russ Carnahan

Russ Carnahan greets a 50 year St. Louis Laborers member at a recent lunch meeting.
St. Louis - The St. Louis members of the Laborers International Union of North America (LIUNA) Local 110, one of the nation's largest union of construction workers, has officially announced their endorsement of Russ Carnahan. The St. Louis Laborers are backing Carnahan because of his strong record of advocating for the safety and rights of workers and his efforts to reinvest in infrastructure to create jobs and grow Missouri's economy.

"My number one priority is getting people back to work. Infrastructure projects like roads and bridges are essential to Missouri's economy, and we cannot continue to keep these vital resources strong without the efforts of these hardworking men and women," Carnahan said. "That's why I am so honored to have their support. Just as they stand with me, I am committed to stand for them by working to create good paying construction jobs."

In his Regional Jobs Plan, released earlier this year, Carnahan identified infrastructure and construction as one of the most effective ways to get people back to work and help build a strong economy. And he is getting results - construction projects like the I-55 improvements in Jefferson County are creating hundreds of jobs and improving the region's infrastructure to support long-term economic growth.

The Laborers have over 3,000 active and retired members in Missouri. Members will make phone calls, knock on doors, distribute literature and use other outreach efforts to communicate Russ Carnahan's record of fighting for workers.
