Charms of China 中华魅力
Traditional Chinese medicine is an integral part of Chinese cultural heritage that has been passed on from generation to generation. Thousands of years ago, the ancient Chinese already understood the potential of dance and movement not only as a form of artistic expression and entertainment, but also as a mechanism of cultivating positive energy with health and wellness benefits. The Five Animal Frolics, a combination of dance-like movement, martial arts, exercise, and QiGong, was created by Hua Tuo, a renowned physician and herbalist from the Han Dynasty. This form of fitness is still practiced today in cities big and small, where modern-day Chinese engage in public square dance and other forms of folk exercise to stay healthy.
