As stewards of their organizations, nonprofit leaders need to be effective financial managers. The Nonprofit Management & Leadership Program at the University of Missouri-St. Louis offers a course to help leaders of nonprofit organizations understand and apply financial knowledge in their management and governance roles. Financial Issues in Managing Nonprofit Organizations will be held 9:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, Feb. 1-2, in 336 Social Sciences and Business Building, UM-St. Louis, One University Blvd.
This course is appropriate for general staff, executives, and board members of NPOs. It covers cash-flow analysis, budgeting, fund accounting, cost accounting, and understanding financial statements, including balance sheets, cash-flow statements, statements of activity, and operating and capital budgets.
