McCaskill Statement on InBev Buyout of Anheuser-Busch
Missouri Senator reacts to sale of St. Louis company

"We do not have a 'For Sale' sign on our front lawn in America." - Sen. Claire McCaskill (D-MO), while expressing her opposition to the potential InBev buyout of Anheuser-Busch.
WASHINGTON, D.C. - U.S. Senator Claire McCaskill made the following statement today regarding the sale of Anheuser-Busch to the Belgium company InBev. The Anheuser-Busch board of directors accepted InBev's buyout offer on Sunday, and the deal was announced earlier today.

"I'm disappointed. Anheuser-Busch's Missouri workforce will continue to make the company one of the best in the world, and I am going to do everything I can to make this new arrangement work for Missouri and the millions of Americans who love Budweiser. We need to remember that InBev could afford this All-American company because of the weak dollar created by the economic policies of the last seven years. It's time for a change in our nation's economic priorities."
