FroYo has seven locations in the metro St. Louis area (Ladue, Manchester, South County, Central West End, Delmar Loop, Chesterfield and Creve Coeur). Each store offers self-serve creamy, delicious, gluten free, low fat, high protein (with carb counts!) frozen treats that are a healthy alternative to high-fat ice cream.
And now - through the end of June - you can buy a $1.00 JDRF paper sneaker to help fund the research to treat, cure and prevent diabetes. Each customer can sign their sneaker and it will be prominently displayed at the FroYo store.
Entrepreneur Jason Jan was born in Malaysia but came to the U.S. in 1999 to attend UMSL. After living in California, Jan retuned to St. Louis to raise his family. He opened six FroYo stores in four years and they've been successful since day one. "I am proud that FroYo is a Saint Louis home grown company and that we can contribute to good causes like JDRF," said Jan.
JDRF is a nonprofit organization founded on and driven by a single goal: to cure, treat and prevent type 1 diabetes (T1D) through the support of research. Since its inception in 1970, JDRF has invested over $1.6 billion into diabetes research, making it the leading charitable funder and advocate of T1D research in the world. More than 80% of JDRF expenditures directly support diabetes research and education, and because of this JDRF received a 2012 Forbes Magazine all star designation for financial efficiency. |
