ST. LOUIS - The Chicago Cubs return to St. Louis for a rematch with the Cardinals Aug. 10 and The Salvation Army has some of the cheapest tickets in town.

The Salvation Army and St. Louis Cardinals are teaming up for "Night at the Ballpark," a way to affordably enjoy a great baseball rivalry and simultaneously support the thousands of St. Louisans helped by the Army each year. Those interested in tickets for the 6:15 p.m. game can purchase them without service fees through the Army for $40 apiece. The tickets originally sell for $88.50 through the Cardinals website. Only a limited number of tickets are available at this price, so fans are encouraged to act quickly.

To extend the friendly rivalry off the field, The Salvation Army's Midland Division in St. Louis is competing against Chicago's Metro Division to see who can raise the most money for their respective social service programs - which clothe, feed, assist, and minister to thousands of people each year. Beginning July 15 and running through Aug. 9, area residents are asked to text MYCARDS to 80888 to donate $10 to the local Salvation Army and help St. Louis top Chicago.

To purchase your discounted tickets and simultaneously support The Salvation Army, visit www.stlsummerseries.com  or call (314) 646-3149.

The Salvation Army, an international organization, has been supporting those in need without discrimination for 130 years in Missouri. Nearly 350,000 people throughout Missouri and Southern Illinois receive assistance from The Salvation Army each year through the broadest array of social services that range from providing food for the hungry, relief for disaster victims, assistance for the disabled, outreach to the elderly and ill, clothing and shelter to the homeless and opportunities for underprivileged children. 85 cents of every dollar spent is used to carry out those services throughout the region.
