A scam artist impersonating an Ameren Missouri (electric company) employee has been targeting at local businesses. Ameren representatives want customers to know that they would never ask for payment over the phone or ask for your Social Security number or account number. Ameren advice if you receive such a phone call is to hang up immediately and call them at 800-552-7583.
